Hi Bill, I enjoyed your latest show(2.11), actually I liked them all, but I wanted to comment on this one.
I agree the Lost finale fell a little short, the ending was good, but too many unanswered questions. But, if they tried to answer everything you would've gotten a Lord of the Rings kind of thing, where the creation of everything was explained in the Silmarillion. The book answered all the questions you may have had, but it read like a history text book, all the answers, none of the drama and excitement that a good story needs. Lost needed to run another 4 or 5 seasons to get it right (of course that means more questions).
You mentioned reading the Invaders trade and it not holding up to the Avengers(Kang/Squadron Supreme)trade, not suprising considering it was written by Steve Englehart during the 70's and he was on fire, everything he wrote during that time was gold. Avengers and Cap are still my favorite titles because of what he did.
You also talked about my favorite subject:Price
There was a time when comics were cheap entertainment, keeping the price low to sell as much as possible. When I started collecting the price was 20cents, then the following May cover date books went up to 25cents, I was shocked when I bought 4 comics and didn't get 20cents change for my buck. That was my first experience with the facts of inflation and it sucked, but I could still get 4 for a dollar so it wasn't all bad. Little did I know where it would lead us to. Now instead of trying to keep it cheap it's gone the other way, charging as much as we're willing to pay(some cases more than we're willing)a max price point so to speak. We get decompressed stories running many issues longer than needed, thus increasing the price even more; Artists making enough profits that don't need to produce monthly thus making books late; A glut of similar titles for every character because apparently the price allows the book to survive even with low numbers. It's funny, I would've thought the direct market would keep the price down because the companies don't overprint and destroy the leftovers like they used to in the news stand days. Y'know less waste lower cost, go figure.
Oh well I be lookin' for the next show, Stay well.

I do remember the scene with young Amy on the suitcase. But I hadn't put that together with the Doctor telling her it is important that she remember what he told her... that would be a bit of a cheat I would think... to lead the audience to believe there's a critical clue in the first episode and then find it was something that happened that we weren't privy to just yet.

BTW, I was amazed to see a comment on the blog here! I didn't think anyone actually came here and just got everything off of ITunes! LOL.

I don't know if you remember, but in the first episode of the 11th Doctor, right at the end, they return to young Amy sitting outside waiting for the Doctor, and we start to hear the TARDIS. She looks up and grins, and the scene cuts to Amy in the present sleeping in her room.

At the time, I told my wife that they were going to come back to that scene and show the Doctor returning to young Amy in the past as the resolution to something, probably the problem with the crack.

While I didn't catch that the Doctor was wearing his coat when he returned to talk to "blind" Amy in the Weeping Angels episode, I did feel that there was something going on in that scene, since he should have been long gone, but he just "reappeared" to talk to her about something she should have remembered his telling her that we hadn't seen him telling her.

So I knew there was something off about that scene, and hearing you talk about the continuity glitch just makes me think it's going to link to that earlier scene I mentioned.
