Nova is targeted by an assassination attempt, aimed at preventing him from coming to the Earth's defense during the Secret Invasion. He is aided by Kl'rt, former ally and fallen Skrull, who offers to go with him in aid of the Earth. When they arrive, they find that things do not go as planned.
